Emergency Response
24/7 rapid response teams that mobilize within hours of a cruelty or neglect report, partnering with New Mexico Animal Control and local law enforcement.
Free Horses Tag Corporation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and protecting horses in need — giving them the dignity and care they deserve.
Free Horses Tag Corporation was founded by passionate advocates who witnessed firsthand the suffering of neglected and abandoned horses across New Mexico. We believed that with the right community support, every horse could have a chance at a healthy, dignified life.
Since our founding in Albuquerque, we have built a network of dedicated volunteers, veterinary partners, and caring adopters who share one conviction: horses are not disposable. They are sentient, intelligent companions that deserve protection, compassion, and respect.
Operating as a fully transparent 501(c)(3) non-profit, every dollar donated is dedicated directly to equine welfare — from emergency rescue operations to long-term rehabilitation and community education.
Each program is designed with the horse's full journey in mind — from the moment of rescue to the day they find their forever home.

Full medical assessments, farrier services, dental care, vaccinations, and ongoing treatment. No horse leaves our care without a clean bill of health.
For horses who cannot be adopted, our sanctuary program offers permanent, peaceful housing on partner ranches across New Mexico.
We carefully match rehabilitated horses with verified, loving homes through thorough screenings, post-adoption follow-ups, and ongoing support.
School visits, workshops, and outreach programs to teach responsible horse ownership and build a culture of prevention.
Partnering with federal and state agencies, we monitor wild horse populations and advocate for humane management policies.
These are not just animals. They are survivors. Each one arrived broken and left whole.
